Learn how to make Navratri Special Snack 'नमकीन मखाना - Namkeen Makhana' which can be had during Upvas /Fasting, with our chef Seema Gadh. <br /><br />Makhana Namkeen is a great snack to have while Fasting/Upvas, which makes it one of the healthiest food available. Besides Makhana or Fox nuts are great snack food for diabetics and heart patients as they contain good fat and have a low quantity of saturated fats. These properties make makhanas a good weight-loss food.<br /><br />Ingredients:<br />(Serves 2)<br />- 1 tbsp Ghee<br />- Butter<br />- Curry Leaves(chopped)<br />- Peanuts<br />- 150-200 gms Fox Nuts(Makhana)<br />- Rock Salt<br />- Black Pepper Powder<br />- Cumin Seed powder<br /><br />Method:<br />1. Turn on the flame and add ghee, butter, chopped curry leaves, peanuts to the wok <br />2. Turn the flame to medium and saute it till the peanuts fry properly<br />3. Now, add fox nuts(Makhana) to the mix and cook them on a low flame for 10-12 minutes<br />4. After around 10 minutes add rock salt, black pepper powder, cumin seed powder to the wok, and mix it<br />5. Once cooked properly, turn off the flame and serve it
